Free · Optional Mac Experience: 30 days free, then US$10 once · Mac: unsigned app. The first time, macOS says it could not verify it: on macOS 14 or earlier, right-click the app and choose Open; on macOS 15 or later, go to System Settings, Privacy & Security, and click Open Anyway. Ubuntu (64-bit): double-click the .deb to install, then open “Second Wind USB Creator” from your apps.

Download the creator, plug in a USB stick (8 GB+), three clicks.
⚠️ Before you ever install, back up. Installing erases the whole Mac and replaces macOS.
✅ Photos & files copied to iCloud, Google Drive or an external disk (open a few and check they're really there)
✅ Passwords and two-factor codes available on your phone or a password manager
✅ Anything you'd cry about, in TWO places
The installer will make you confirm this again, twice. And whatever happens, your Mac can always go back: see the rescue card.
